Gravedale U Yuko Yuri

One of my OCs for a little remembered Hanna-Barbara cartoon called Gravedale High. Whilst the original was set in a high school for monsters, I chose to update it and move it to a college/university setting.

I knew from the start of this project that one of my original characters was going to be a ghost. The original show's characters took inspiration from iconic movie monsters and for me Sadako from the movie Ringu (The Ring) is the most iconic ghost in modern horror movies, though there was also some influence from Ju-On (The Grudge) too.

Yuko's look changed a quite a bit from the original sketch I did, I felt she was lacking and didn't really represent her inspiration. I really went to town and gave her that real J-horror feel.

This girl, for the most part, is incredibly shy and very much a wallflower. She has a huge crush on the on the extremely outgoing Sid though she can never pluck up the courage to even speak to him. Unfortunately Yuko suffers from multiple personalities, some of which tend to be on the haunting and vengeful side.
